Zanzibar - Tanzania 2016
OPTIONAL EXTRA: 4 Day Zanzibar Island
Dates Available: 2 - 5 september 2016
Day 1 arrive in Stonetown
Fly from Katavi airstrip in a private shared charter (13 Seater Cessna Caravan). You will be dropped off at Stonetown airport in Zanzibar. You’ll be met by an air-conditioned taxi and will transfer to your Stonetown hotel. Visit the rooftop terrace for your 360 degree panorama of the old town, as your hotel is right next to the old fort. Spend the afternoon relaxing, or walk through the cobbled streets and haggle for souvenirs and antiques. Visit the local museums, the ancient slave market or the Sultan’s palace. Return for dinner on the roof top restaurant, or eat at one of the many restaurants in Stonetown. Accommodation is provided at MaruMaru Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Days 2 & 3 days at leisure in luxury
After breakfast, transfer across the island by private vehicle to your beach hotel. Swing in a hammock, drink a madafu (fresh coconut drink), go on a spice tour (optional extra) or simply just soak up some tropical sun on your pristine white beach. Your beach hotel has links to a diving centre so you can even explore the island below the waterline and see some of the finest diving sites in Zanzibar (dive package not included). Accommodation is provided at Anna of Zanzibar. Full Board Basis.

Today after a final breakfast overlooking the beautiful blue ocean, you’ll be transferred back to Stonetown airport by road (45 min drive in shared transfer) for your return scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam.

ABOUT ZANZIBAR – THE SPICE ISLAND
Zanzibar is a short hop away from the Tanzania mainland with easy flight connections to all the major tourist centres.
With picture postcard beaches, superb diving and deep sea fishing, a traditional Swahili culture steeped in history and the atmospheric alleyways of Stone Town, this Spice Island has something for everyone and makes the perfect beach destination to relax after your Tanzania safari.
Stone Town (Zanzibar Town) itself can be a hive of activity with traders demonstrating timeless negotiating skills along the narrow shopping streets or can be the sleepiest town imaginable depending on the time of day.
Worthwhile excursions for Tanzania safari visitors include a city tour which brings home the true horrors of the days of slavery, visits to spice farms, outlying islands such as Changuu island with its giant tortoises, the endangered red colobus monkeys at Jozani forest and swimming with dolphins at Kizimkazi in the south.
